Westcotes Weekly Update

📣 WESTCOTES WEEKLY ROUND-UP! 👮‍♀️🚔

Another busy week for our Westcotes neighbourhood team! From proactive patrols to community engagement and tackling anti-social behaviour, here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to.

🚗 FATAL 4 – ROAD SAFETY

Our officers and PCSOs have been focusing on the Fatal 4, the four main causes of serious and fatal collisions on our roads:

🔹 Speeding

🔹 Using a mobile phone whilst driving

🔹 Not wearing a seatbelt

🔹 Driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs

A reminder that these behaviours put lives at risk. Please make the right choices and help keep our roads safe.

🚲 E-BIKE ENFORCEMENT & EDUCATION

Our PCSOs have been out conducting e-bike enforcement and educational work, helping to raise awareness and address concerns around the use of e-bikes in our communities.

👮 WANTED MALE LOCATED

Our PCSOs successfully located a male wanted in connection with a number of offences, including two thefts, resulting in the male being arrested.

🌳 COMMUNITY TEAMWORK

With the help of our fantastic local community, officers were able to assist in clearing a fallen tree that was blocking Andrewes Street following the recent stormy weather. A great example of everyone pulling together!

☕ OFFICER DROP-IN AT BEDE PARK

PCSO Ushma held an officer drop-in at Bede Park, joined by Sgt 939. Residents had the opportunity to stop for a chat, raise any concerns and receive crime prevention advice.

It’s always lovely to meet members of the community and have those conversations!

🔎 PROACTIVE POLICING – ASHLEIGH ROAD

Following reports of ongoing night time anti-social behaviour on Ashleigh Road, officers carried out a plain-clothes operation to address the concerns.

The operation resulted in the arrest of someone who was wanted on warrant for a number of outstanding offences.

🚘 VEHICLE RECOVERY & ROAD ENFORCEMENT

Thanks to information provided by a member of the public, officers successfully recovered a stolen vehicle.

Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) have also been issued for vehicle-related offences as part of our ongoing work to improve road safety.

🎃 LOOKING AHEAD – HALLOWEEN PATROLS

With Halloween upon us, officers will be carrying out additional patrols this evening and over the coming weeks, focusing on anti-social behaviour and the misuse of fireworks.

We want everyone to enjoy the celebrations safely and respectfully. Please be considerate of your neighbours and remember that fireworks can cause distress to people and animals.

💙 A BIG THANK YOU!

As always, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to speak with our officers, share information, report concerns and support the work we do.

Your information and involvement really do make a difference.

Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween weekend, Westcotes! 👻
